0POURS

Choose a bottle, then an empty bottle or the same top color.

This tab keeps your puzzle. Completed shelves stay on this device.

01 / FOUR SMALL MEASURES

A bottle’s worth.

Each bottle holds four units. Tap a filled bottle to select it, then choose a legal destination. Tap the source again to cancel. Different top colors cannot mix in a pour.

02 / A FINISHED SHELF

Full, or empty.

The puzzle is complete when every nonempty bottle holds four units of just one color. A half-full single-color bottle still needs more of its shade. The 16 original layouts have replayed solution certificates.

03 / ONE MORE LITTLE POUR

Take another route.

Undo the most recent 80 pours, restart a shelf or choose another puzzle. Refresh restores your puzzle in this tab. Closing the tab ends that session; completed-puzzle badges stay on this device until browser site data is cleared.

Water sort puzzle strategy

Look at the complete top group

Color Pour is a water sort puzzle with sixteen original starting layouts. A pour moves the whole matching group at the top until it runs out or the destination fills. Count the free spaces before choosing a destination: one empty space accepts only one unit even if the source group contains three. The player’s letter labels and bottle descriptions help you read the same rule without color alone.

Protect a little spare capacity

An empty bottle is useful because it accepts any top shade. Filling every available space with separate partial groups can leave fewer useful pours. Look for a move that completes a bottle or exposes another matching group, rather than moving a color simply because the destination is legal. Undo makes it easy to compare the shelf before and after that choice.

A full shade is different from a tidy-looking bottle

The win condition requires every nonempty bottle to hold four units of one color. Two half-full bottles of the same shade still need to be combined. The first puzzle demonstrates that rule in three pours, while later shelves use more colors and may need a longer plan. Every initial shelf has a replayed solution certificate; your later choices can still create a position that needs undoing.

Questions before your next round

Are all sixteen water sort puzzles solvable?

Yes. Each original starting shelf has a tested sequence of legal pours reaching the required full single-color bottles. That guarantee applies to the starting layout, not every position a player creates.

Can I pour onto a different top color?

No. The destination must be empty or have the same top color as the source, and it must have free capacity.

Does a hint prove the best move?

A shown hint is the first step of a complete route found from the current shelf. It is not described as the shortest route or the highest-quality strategy. A search-budget message does not prove unsolvability.

Can I continue after refreshing?

Yes. This tab saves its current shelf, pour count and up to eighty undo positions. Closing the tab ends that session; completed-puzzle badges are a separate local device record.
