BY TASK

Two ways to plan a strategy game

These two creator-described strategy games ask for different kinds of planning. Tiled West narrows the action to a single-row duel, a cylinder of bullet cards and previewed enemy moves. Thronebound expands the decision to villages, shared resources and real-time troop movement. Joywisp has not playtested either game or ranked their difficulty.

Start with Tiled West if you want to inspect a small tactical encounter and plan around jammed chambers. Choose Thronebound if you want to manage resource production, defend settlements and push toward a stated 75% territory target.
